Privacy-First Design
At Text to Excel Converter, we believe privacy is a fundamental right. Our tool is designed from the ground up to protect your data. Unlike many online converters, we process everything locally in your browser - meaning your files never leave your device and we never see your data.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Text to Excel ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, create an account, purchase credits or subscriptions, or otherwise interact with the service.
By using Text to Excel you consent to the practices described here. If you disagree with this policy, please do not use the service.
Information We Collect
We collect the types of information outlined below when you interact with the service:
- Account information such as your name, email address, and authentication identifiers.
- Billing details, order history, and credit usage necessary to process payments and maintain your subscription.
- Support communications and feedback that you submit to us.
- Technical data (device type, browser, language preferences, IP address) collected automatically for security and performance.
Files that you convert remain on your device; conversion happens client-side. We do not store the file contents on our servers.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to operate our business and deliver the service effectively.
- Provide, personalize, and maintain the Text to Excel service, including credit balances and subscription features.
- Process payments, detect fraud, and manage invoices through our payment processor.
- Respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, and improve service quality.
- Analyze aggregated usage patterns to enhance functionality and plan capacity.
We do not sell personal data. We only share information with third parties as described in this policy.
Payment, Authentication & Service Providers
Trusted vendors help us deliver the service. Each provider may process your personal data under their own privacy terms.
- Creem (operated by Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia) acts as our Merchant of Record and payment processor. Creem receives payment information, order totals, billing details, and anti-fraud metadata to process transactions, collect taxes, and handle refunds on our behalf. Your payment data is governed by Creem's Privacy Policy at creem.io/privacy.
- BetterAuth and Google provide authentication; they process your login credentials and share basic profile information (name, email, avatar) with us when you sign in.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (such as Vercel and our database provider) store encrypted account data to keep the service available.
Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to support core functionality and measure aggregate usage.
- Essential cookies and local storage keep you signed in, preserve language preferences, and secure your session.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics help us understand aggregate usage. They do not reveal individual document contents.
- You can reject non-essential cookies through your browser settings or by installing Google's opt-out tools.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
- Account data remains active while you maintain an account. When you request deletion, we remove or anonymize the data within 30 days unless legal obligations require longer retention.
- Order and billing records are stored for up to seven (7) years to meet tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Security logs and analytics data are retained for up to twelve (12) months, after which they are aggregated or deleted.
Security Measures
We implement technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
- All network communication uses HTTPS encryption, and sensitive secrets are stored using environment-variable management.
- Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel who require it to operate the service.
- We monitor the service for suspicious activity and will notify affected users and authorities of data breaches as required by law.
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data.
- Access your data or request a copy by contacting [email protected].
- Request correction or deletion of inaccurate information, subject to legal and contractual limitations.
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe links or contacting us.
